Why does my new Price pfister faucet turn off on its own? We installed a single handle price pfister faucet. If I don't turn the water on all the way it shuts off on its own. Any ideas why this might be happening? Joe Banana replied: "A water saving feature?"
Mr.bea replied: "They are now installing water saving features on faucets and shower heads. It could be a water saving device. Most can be disabled.But local codes may prevent it."

call PP and have them send you out a replacement cartridge
or take it back to where you bought it and exchange it" I replaced a replacement cartridge in my price pfister faucet know there no water comes.? I just replaced my replacement cartridge on my price pfister 526-50xx faucet. When I turn on the water supply no water comes out of the faucet. The instructions very easy to handle so I'm a little confused. Allen replied: "You need to turn off the h/c supply lines, get a bucket, stick each line into the bucket & turn them back on for a few seconds. This will clear any debrie in the lines. Reattach turn the water back on, remove the aerator from the end of the faucet then turn on each seperately to clear the faucet. If you still have no or low pressure , turn water off remove each cartridge check for debrie, check the hole where the cart. fit for debrie if any clean out. You can use a vac for that if needed."

It's possible that you placed the cartridge in reverse, in which case, turn it 1/2 turn and reinsert it."

2.use your mouth air and blow slow as you can
3.feel the air goes through or not
4.shake the cartridge, granular carbon chips inside still fresh or not.
5.check the attach screw have fine mesh screen filter, some have rock like particle blocking there, clean up with old tooth brush.
finally u can have drinking fresh water good luck" Why does my new Price Pfister faucet not turn off instantly? It is a new kitchen faucet with pull out spout. Repairman said its normal for that model. Replaced gasket, and it still is slow in turning off, and drips for a while after. Not constantly, but just after turning off.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Don replied: "I think this sounds normal, too. As long as the water does stop, this doesn't sound like a functional problem. I wonder if your sink might be at a slight angle, or some such, but really, as long as the faucet doesn't leak on a regular basis, and the water comes on when you turn the handle, I think it's doing its job."
Allen C replied: "It is normal in some cases & as long as it stops, dripping for example it's ok. If in the future it continues to drip then replace the cartridge."
peanutbrain replied: "All of the pull-spout faucets and high arc faucets will drip slightly when turned off. This is caused by the water in the spout draining to the high point of the spout." Noisy Price Pfister Faucet? I have a single handle faucet with side sprayer. When I turn on faucet I get a high pitch whistle and low pressure on sprayer. The aerator is clean. I haven’t looked at cartridge yet. Anyone else with similar problem? Tim H replied: "it sounds like you have a bad spray divertor on the faucet. It is probably stuck half way between the spray function and spout function causing the water flow to be restricted causing a loss of pressure. The noise would also be caused by the stuck divertor because the water is being forced past the divertor that is restricting the flow. You could either replace the divertor if you could find the part, but if I were you I would save yourself alot of agrivation and trouble and just replace the faucet with a Delta brand faucet. I do not like Price Pfister faucets one bit due to the many problems and lack of part availability. Delta's are hands down the best quaility faucet on the market. And should you ever need parts you can find them everywhere." Price Pfister Faucets? Where does Price Pfister rank in the faucet world? Are the good, ok, crap? Who makes the best? txcatwoman replied: "I bought one, it didn't work, I called the factory and they sent me a replacement part that was to arrive in about 30 days. I can't leave my kitchen faucet for 30 days without water ! I took it back to Lowe's, (where I bought it) , and bought a Kohler .It was only about $10 more, and it is top of the line, no comparison !"
MT C replied: "They are up there with the reasonably priced faucets. I would rate them as very good for the money. Other "good" brands are Delta, Moen, Oak Brook (less money, but the quality seems to be there) and American Standard, to name but a few of many. Go to a place like The Home Depot and look over what they have. They generally carry quality, nationally known faucets with a wide variety of designs, materials and prices."
fixitall replied: "I installed one 18 months ago and the spayer started leaking recently. I called and got a replacement in 5 days. One thing I found was to be sure and keep all papers that come with this product as I could not find thier brand name any where on the product. This makes it very difficult to find parts if you don't remember the brand and model number. I was lucky that the store still carried the faucet and was able to find the brand and model number at the store. I would rate them as mid grade."

Peachy replied: "I have one in my kitchen, one with the pull out sprayer all in one peice, i love it, never had a problem. it is one of their higher models about $200."
potheadplumber replied: "PLEASE GOD DO NOT BUY A PRICE PFISTER FAUCET. anytime it breaks it's gonna take days to get replacement parts buy delta, moen, american standard, or kohler. a price pfister faucet is the ford escort of faucets. complete peice of junk."
yfrkim replied: "Go with Delta. You can do your own little test. At Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. go to the plumbing parts section (like you needed a new handle), what you'll find is Delta and maybe some store brand. You can always find Delta parts and fix the thing that afternoon -- not days and days. Plumbers will charge you for running all over town trying to find parts."
car dude replied: "nice looking stuff, but they can be no fun to get the correct parts for. i talked to four different plumbers when we did our remodel and everyone of them said Moen. they don't change the inner parts in mid-production. we did the bathrooms with kohler fixtures and moen faucets. what ever you decide to buy keep the model and serial numbers off of the boxes for the future repairs!!! it will save you a lot of grief down the road as you will have the correct information to get the right parts. no one likes to wait 10 days only to find out you got the wrong parts! good luck."

champ2785 replied: "Dollar for dollar, you can't beat Delta for ease of maintenance and reliability, if a job comes up with Price-Pfister, I recommend changing it."
ButtUglyJeff replied: "Price Pfister is a division of Black @ Decker and have been around for almost 100 years, originating in California. They carry lifetime warrantys like all the major players in faucets. One thing I like most about them is the fact they use "ceramic disc" valves. Ceramic outlasts nylon about 2.5 to 1, in terms of wear resistance.
You'll hear complaints occationally, but in all honesty, I've heard the same about them all. Once in a while, you'll get a bad faucet."
simplyexistingtoday replied: "I am not aware of any professional statistics about the faucet's quality, however, I have one in my bath sink and a match in the tub and I have been pleased with the performance of them both. The appearance has remained like new after 3 years of exposure to soap scum and such. Also when I did have a problem with the sink handle squeaking and jiggly (due to kids jerking on them) I called 1 800 pfaucet and was assured of my lifetime warranty and received replacement free. I hope that helps." |
